KABINI
The Jewel of South India

Nestled along the serene banks of the Kabini River, this breathtaking wilderness was once the exclusive hunting ground of the Mysore Maharajas. Today, it stands as one of India’s most iconic wildlife destinations, seamlessly blending luxury, adventure and raw nature. It is also where Mithun Hunugund worked on National Geographic’s acclaimed film The Real Black Panther, a testament to Kabini’s status as a true wildlife wonder.
Part of the Nagarhole National Park, Kabini is home to an extraordinary variety of wildlife, including Tigers, Leopards, Dholes, Sloth bears and more than 250 species of birds. However, its greatest allure is the elusive black panther, a rare predator that has captivated wildlife enthusiasts across the globe.

Perhaps Kabini’s most mesmerising feature is its backwaters, where receding waters in summer reveal vast open plains. This seasonal transformation creates an oasis for a wide variety of wildlife, attracting the largest congregation of Asiatic elephants in the world. It offers picturesque sightings of these majestic giants and deer, along with tigers often seen strolling by the river, making Kabini a dream destination for nature lovers and photographers alike.
