BANDIPUR
The Pride of the Nilgiris

Situated at the foothills of the Western Ghats, Bandipur National Park is one of India’s most scenic and ecologically important reserves. It was the first park in southern India to be included under Project Tiger and plays a key role in the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. With rolling hills, rocky outcrops and a hilly terrain offering stunning views of the Nilgiris, Bandipur shares crucial wildlife corridors with Nagarhole National Park, Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary and Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, making it vital to conservation in the region.
Bandipur is home to an extraordinary array of wildlife and is recognised as one of India’s premier tiger reserves. With a healthy population of tigers and leopards, the park draws wildlife enthusiasts and photographers from across the world, all eager for a glimpse of these elusive big cats in their natural habitat.

Beyond these famed residents, Bandipur shelters a remarkable diversity of species, from the Indian rock python, Jackal and Four-horned antelope to rare sightings of the Flying lizard. The park is also nourished by the Kabini and Moyar rivers, which help sustain a thriving ecosystem even during the drier months.
